One hundred Sea Scouts joined one thousand Venturers for the Annual Fall Fun Rally held at Beaumont Scout Reservation near St. Louis Missouri on the first weekend of fall. Although it is the largest Venturing event in the country, Sea Scouts poured in from all over the Central Region to attend. Over a hundred events spanned the weekend including Caving, Climbing, Fencing, Volleyball, Talent show, Rendezvous Mountain Man Area, Belegarth Medieval Historical Combat Society, Training Classes, American Indian Village, Military Demonstrations and displays, Police Demonstrations, Helicopters, and more. The Sea Scout leadership added to the mountain of events to cater to the Sea Scouts in Attendance. Three classes were held for sea scouts or interested parties that included Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training, a Boatswain’s Academy, and a “What is Sea Scouting” presentation. In the Sea Scout area there were Remote Controlled Boat races and navigation training, the Titanic Hypothermia Challenge, SCUBA, and several boat displays. Sea Scouts and Venturers alike enjoyed visiting the Sea Scout area and all enjoyed the 2011 Fall Fun Rally.
