Looking Back at 2014

Colllage142014 was a fantastic year for Sea Scouts across the country. Sea Scouts participated in our #GetOnTheWater Campaign and got out on the the water by sailing, cruising, and paddling. A paddlepsorts track was added to the advancement requirements, the new Sea Scout Wiki went live, we launched our social media campaign, and we asked our youth to shape the future of our program with the Voice of the Sea Scout Survey and Youth Task Force.

Our Sea Scouts were busy too, because 38+ Sea Scouts reached Quartermaster, 4 SEAL Courses were held, 6 Sea Scouts Sailed Aboard the USCG Barque Eagle, and scouts from 10 countries participated in the 7th Biannual William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup. I can’t wait to see where Sea Scouts go in 2015!

Happy New Year,
Peter Schmidt
2014-2015 National Boatswain

  1. “A paddlesports track was added to the advancement requirements”? What is this? I have not seen anything about that and would love it as our ship has smaller boats.
