Summer Cruising for All Sea Scouts

Summer Cruise DownloadIn October 2013, the National Sea Scout Service Committee created a Summer Cruise Task Force to make summer cruises possible for “Boatless” Sea Scout Ships. The NSSSC recognises that Summer Cruises are crucial to the program of a ship and the advancement of each Sea Scout, so they encourage every ship to take at least one Long Cruise a year in addition to getting on the water at least once a month. Under the Leadership of National Sea Scout Committee Member, Eric Kissel, the Task Force has identified opportunities around the country that will allow Sea Scouts to get on the water this summer. If your ship doesn’t have a boat that is a suitable size for your summer cruise, you want to go on a unique cruise, or you need to send just one or two Sea Scouts on a cruise because of timing conflicts, be sure to see what is available to you!

  1. How does a Ship get to apply for the list that appears in the report? Ship-243 would be willing to offer a berth on the 65′ “Sea Horse” for our weekend and summer Long Cruise. We are based on the Rahway River in New Jersey is operated by Ship-243 Patriots Path Council NJ & Ship-24 GNYC Staten Islan NY.
